Since a short issue is involved, we directed Shri Karlekar, the learned Advocate, who is on the panel of Respondent No.5/GMIDC, to cause his appearance in this matter and convey the order to the Department.

We have perused the communication dated 28.07.2020 issued by the District Collector, Jalna addressed to the Sub Divisional Officer-cum- Land Acquisition Officer, Ambad (Respondent No.4).

In view of the above, this Writ Petition is disposed off with a direction to Respondent No.4 to proceed with the said proposal as expeditiously as possible, since 24 months have already lapsed and complete the procedure under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013, within the time line prescribed therein. If direct purchase is possible, the same be completed in terms of the policies that are applicable, as expeditiously as possible and preferably within six months from today.
