Heard Mr. Phatale, the learned advocate for the petitioner and Mrs. Deshpande, the learned Additional Government Pleader for respondents/State.

The learned Addl. G. P. submits that, the petitioner was directed to appear before the Committee as per order dated 15th March, 2018 on 27th March, 2018, but the petitioner did not appear and for the first time on 03rd July, 2018 filed an application in the inward section and thereafter did not remain present at any point of time.

Mr. Phatale, the learned counsel for the petitioner submits
2 cp 567.21 that, on 27th March, 2018 the petitioner could not appear, however, appeared on 03rd July, 2018 and the petitioner was directed to file application in the inward section. Thereafter the petitioner was never called for hearing.

In fact, when this Court had directed the petitioner to appear on 27th March, 2018, the petitioner ought to have appeared on the said date. It appears that, the petitioner in July 2018 approached the committee as contended.

Be that as it may, the petitioner shall now appear before the Committee on 09th November, 2021. The Committee shall thereafter endeavour to decide the proceedings as expeditiously as possible considering the fact that, the petitioner is a student and aspiring admission to the professional course from reserved category. The endeavour may be made to decide the proceedings by 25th November, 2021.

In the light of the above, the contempt petition is disposed of. No costs.
