Upon perusal of the contents of the FIR, prima facie, the offence is disclosed. There is allegation of demand of the amount and also that the investigation team, after verifying the conversation in the digital voice recorder, arranged the trap. The defence taken by the applicant that the said amount was demanded and accepted towards taxes of the Gram Panchayat, cannot be considered. No case is made out for quashing of the FIR. In the circumstances, the criminal application stands rejected.
