The Petitioners have tendered an application to the District Collector, Aurangabad in the inward department, on 24.08.2023, praying for rental compensation. The acquisition is of 1984 and the award was delivered in 2008.

In these peculiar circumstances, it would be unfair to direct Respondent No.3 to take a decision within a particular time frame. Hence, we direct Respondent No.3 to deal with the representation of the Petitioners, by following the due procedure laid down in law. If he does not have the authority to pass any order on the application, he may redirect the application / representation to the Appropriate Authority for a

( 2 ) 941 wp 10387.24 decision. We would appreciate if the exercise of considering the representation on the basis of the record, is completed within 180 days from today.

In view of the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed off.
