Petitioner tendered application seeking inclusion of her name in the voters list on 01.07.2017. The grievance of petitioner is that although voters list for the purpose of election to the Village Panchayat was published on 22.08.2017, her name does not find place which, according to her, has put her to irreparable inconvenience.

In view of directives issued by the State Election Commission, the cut off date prescribed for finalisation of the voters list is 01.07.2017. Voters list of the concerned Legislative Assembly as on 01.07.2017 shall be the basis of preparation of voters list for the purpose of election to the Village Panchayat. Application tendered by petitioner on 01.07.2017 for inclusion of her name in the voters list, for the first time, will be processed in

{2} wp11121.17.odt accordance with the provisions of Registration of Electors Rules and, appropriate decision shall have to be rendered. The direction as requested by petitioner for inclusion of her name in the voters list prepared for election of the Village Panchayat does not deserve to be entertained at this stage. Writ petition is devoid of substance hence stands rejected.
