The petitioner is seeking a limited prayer of direction to the respondent no.2/Caste Scrutiny Committee to decide the proposal submitted for verification of his caste claim expeditiously. We therefore deem it appropriate to pass an innocuous order by directing respondent no.2/Caste Scrutiny Committee to decide the caste claim of the petitioner within a period of four months from today. 2.

It is submitted that the employer of the petitioner i.e. respondent nos.3 to 7 have issued the communication directing the petitioner to submit the caste validity certificate, failing which the services of the petitioner would be discontinued. We, therefore, pass the following order :

ORDER

(i) The respondent no.2/Caste Scrutiny Committee is hereby directed to decide the caste claim of the petitioner within a period of four months from today.

(ii) The respondent nos.3 to 7 shall not take any coercive action against the petitioner during the pendency of the caste claim of the petitioner before the respondent no.2/Caste Scrutiny Committee. (iii) We make it clear that the protection granted by us will operate only till the decision of petitioner's caste claim. (iv) With these directions, writ petition stands disposed of. ( ABASAHEB D.
