The learned Assistant Government Pleader, on written instructions, informs this Court that the application filed by the petitioner has been sent by the Settlement Commissioner to the Superintendent of Land Record. We hope and expect that in accordance with the provisions of the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code, 1966, and relevant Rules, concerned Authority will take expeditious decision on the application of the petitioner. If it is necessary, concerned Authority can send notice to the petitioner for hearing and ask him to complete the formalities. Needless to observe, that if the Superintendent of Land Record is the Authority to decide application of the petitioner, competent Authority can adjudicate the said application.
