The petitioners claim that, they were holders of land situated at village Eklahare, Tq. Shrirampur, which was given on lease to Tilaknagar Industries. Since the petitioners are ex-lessors and are entitled to claim return of the land, on consideration of their representations, they have been allotted land at some other place. The petitioners claim that, there is availability of land at village Eklahare, Tq. Shrirampur and the Committee shall consider the claim for allotment of adjacent land or as far as possible grant land from the same village.

It would be within the domain of the Committee to take appropriate decision as regards allotment of land on consideration of the request of the petitioners. It would be open for the petitioners to tender an application to the Committee constituted under the Chairmanship of the Collector requesting for allotment of land from village Eklahare, Tq. Shrirampur. If the petitioners tender such an application within six weeks from today, the Collector may take appropriate decision in accordance with the provisions of the Maharashtra Agricultural Land (Ceiling on Holding) (Amendment) Act, 2011 and the relevant directives issued from time to time, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within three months from the date of presentation of such application.

With the directions as above, the writ petition is disposed of.
