PER COURT:

1] Heard. Rule. Rule made returnable forthwith with the consent of the parties.

2] Petitioners herein are hawkers with licence to sell kerosene. According to petitioners, the quota for the distribution and sale of kerosene was reduced from 100% to 5% and that has affected their economic status and, therefore, the petitioners were constrained to make representation to the various authorities. Petitioners made a representation to the Food and Civil Supplies Department of the State of Maharashtra on 12.2.2019, praying for subsistence allowance and some honorarium per month in order to make both ends meet and in the alternative to increase the quota of kerosene for sale. It is submitted that for the past 3 years, said representation has not been considered by the said Department.

{2} 1 sr.no..odt 3] In view of this, respondent No.2 is directed to consider the said representation in accordance with law within a period of one week from the date of receipt of the order. It is made clear that we are not satisfied with the other representations made by the petitioner No.1 and its members, who are petitioner Nos. 2 to 71 and therefore, they do not deserve any consideration.

4] With these directions, petition stands disposed of. Rule is made absolute in above terms.
