DATE :
2nd September, 2016 ORDER:
1.
Heard learned counsel for the respective parties.
2.
The present petition is filed seeking directions to correct inadvertent entry in Column of 'Caste' of the petitioner in the School Leaving Certificate by deleting word 'Maratha' and substitute it as " Kalal". 3.
Learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner has been issued caste certificate. Even in the service record of the petitioner, the caste is recorded as "Kalal". However, by mistake, caste is recorded as "Maratha" in the school record. The same be allowed to be corrected.

963.odt 4.
It is submitted by the learned counsel for the respondents that now, it would not be permissible to change the entry of caste in the school record. 5.
The petitioner has left the school almost 25 years back. It would not be appropriate to issue any directions in the present petition after such a long slumber of 25 years as, all the documents are considered by the Sub Divisional Officer while issuing caste certificate. The petitioner certainly can put forth all the evidence available with him, if the validity is to be sought.
6.
Only on the ground that more than 25 years have already lapsed, we are not entertaining the petition. We have not considered the merits of the matter. 7.
Writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
