The petitioners claim to be belonging to "Chhaparband" Caste which is included in VJ/NT category. The petitioners have been admitted to engineering degree course as against the seat earmarked for VJ/NT category in respondent No. 3 - College. The issue in respect of verification of caste certificates issued in favour of both the petitioners is stated to be pending with the respondent - Scrutiny Committee. Respondent No. 2 - University has declined to declare result of the petitioners of fourth semester of engineering degree course, as a result of failure to submit their caste validity certificates.

In the facts and circumstances of the case, these petitions can be disposed of by issuing directions to respondent No. 4 - Committee to take decision on the caste certificate verification proposals of the petitioners pending before it, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six months from today and it is accordingly directed.

Respondent No. 2 - University shall declare result of petitioners of fourth semester of engineering decree course examination and shall permit the petitioners to appear for next year examinations of engineering degree course subject to outcome of the proceedings in respect of caste verification certificates pending with respondent No. 4 - Committee. Respondent No. 3 - College shall permit the petitioners to prosecute further studies subject to outcome of the proceedings in respect of caste verification certificates pending with respondent No. 4 - Committee.

With directions as above, writ petitions stand disposed of. No costs.
