The petitioners have approached this Court for

directions to the respondent No.2 to decide the applications filed under Section 16 of the Maharashtra Village Panchayats Act.

It is submitted by learned Advocate for the petitioners that the petitioners have applied under Section 14(g) (j-3) of the Maharashtra Village Panchayats Act to the respondent No.2 in the month of June 2023 and though there is mandate to decide the same within stipulated period i.e. 60 days, the same has not been done.

Issue notice to the respondents returnable forthwith. Learned A.G.Ps. waive service for the respondents No.1 and 2 in the respective petitions.

In view of the above, we allow the petitions in terms of prayer clause (B). The respondent No.2 - Collector shall consider and decide the applications submitted by the petitioners in accordance with law on its own merits within 30 days from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
