By this petition, the petitioner seeks a direction to respondent No. 2 - Caste Scrutiny Committee - to decide his caste claim of belonging to the 'Koli Mahadev', Scheduled Tribe, expeditiously. The petitioner has also sought a direction that, until the decision on his caste claim is rendered, his employer, respondents No. 3 to 5, shall not take any coercive action against him.

Considering the above, we deem it appropriate to direct respondent No. 2 - Caste Scrutiny Committee - to decide the caste claim of the petitioner within a period of six months from today. Pending the decision of the caste claim, respondents No. 3 to 5 shall Page 1 of

It is made clear that the directions granted by this Court shall operate only until the caste claim of the petitioner is decided by respondent No. 2 - Caste Scrutiny Committee.
