Mr. Kale, learned counsel submits that the petitioner is entitled for appointment of compassionate ground in place of his grandfather who died in the year 1994. On acquiring majority, the petitioner is entitled for appointment on compassionate ground 2.

We have heard learned AGP also.

It is not disputed that father of the petitioner was in service of ST Department up to the year 2013. The petitioner is seeking appointment in place of his grandfather who died in the year 1994.

The purpose of appointment on compassionate ground is to provide immediate succor to the family of the deceased dying in harness. After 26 years, purpose of

compassionate appointment would stand frustrated, more particularly, when the father of the petitioner was in service in MSRTC up to the the year 2013.

In light of above, writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
