The petitioner has prayed for converting Shirdi Nagar Panchayat into Municipal Council, Shirdi.

The learned A.G.P. places on record a notification dated 21.2.2022 issued by the Urban Development Department, Mantralaya, Mumbai vide which the Nagar Panchayat is now converted into Shirdi Nagar Parishad. Copy of the notification dated 21.2.2022 is taken on record and marked as "X-1" for identification.

In view of the above, this petition is worked out. 4.

The learned Advocate for the petitioner submits that since the Nagar Panchayat was awaiting elections and now that it is converted into Shirdi Nagar Parishad, the Government may be directed to take steps for holding the elections.

Considering this request, we are of the view that the Government will act as per procedure applicable. 6.

As such, this petition is disposed off.
