Delay of 1 year and 1 month in filing the appeal is sought to be condoned by the appellant/applicant against the order of conviction for the offences punishable under section 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 and under section 376(2)(i) and section 366 of the Indian Penal Code.

According to the applicant/appellant, as there was nobody to look after himself and his family upon conviction, he was totally confused and, therefore, the appeal could not be filed.

For the reasons stated in the application and more particularly, since the present appeal is against the conviction, sufficient reasons are made out. 7.
Application is accordingly allowed and disposed of.
