The grievance of the petitioners is that, the amount of rental compensation is not paid to the petitioners. Even, notices are given to the Special Land Acquisition Officer but the same is not paid.

It would appear that, the petitioners have not filed applications for payment of rental compensation to the Authority. The Authority will have to hear the Acquiring Body also. Considering the above, it would be open for the petitioners to file applications seeking the rental compensation with the Special Land Acquisition Officer.

In case, the petitioners file the applications for rental compensation, the Special Land Acquisition Officer shall decide the said applications on its own merits, in accordance with law, after hearing all the parties concerned, expeditiously and preferably within nine (9) months from the date of receipt of applications.
