Petitioners are seeking directions to the Respondents to pay the agreed amount of compensation settled before Lok Adalat, since on the basis of such settlement, an award has been declared.

The issue raised in the instant petition is squarely covered by the decision of this Court in Writ Petition No.8494 of 2014, decided on 9th January, 2015.

The Chief Secretary, Government of Maharashtra, has agreed to disburse the amount of compensation in respect of lands taken over in possession by the Irrigation Department, within a period of six months from the date of undertaking. It would be the responsibility of the State Government to abide by the undertaking and to release the amount of compensation together with amount
