The petitioner is merely seeking release of one annual increment which was due on 01.07.2023, earned by him by putting in service for the last year before superannuation on 30.06.2023. 2.

The issue is no more res integra having reached finality up to the Supreme Court. Independently also a coordinate division bench had taken a view favourable to the persons like the petitioners suffice to refer to The Director (Admn and HR) KPTCL and Others Vs. C.P. Mundinamani and Ors.; AIR 2023 (SC) 1956.

In the light of above the writ petition is allowed. The petitioner is held entitled to have one additional increment which he earned by serving in the last year before superannuation on 30.06.2023. Necessary monetary benefits like pension, gratuity etc. shall be worked out and paid to him accordingly.
