The present petition has been filed for following reliefs :- B.
By issuing writ of certiorari or any other appropriate writ, order or direction for quashing and setting aside the impugned declaration of reservation for the post of Police Patil of village Raniuanchegaon Tq. Ghansangavi Dist. Jalna as per scheduled (a) in advertisement dtd. 15.09.2025 and 04.09.2025 to the extent of village Raniuanchegaon may kindly be quashed and set aside and declare said post for open category considering population of the village.

By issuing writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction directing the Respondents to decide the objection dtd. 08.09.2025 and representations dated 18.09.2025 and 19.09.2025 within a time-bound manner, as per the provisions of GR dtd. 16.10.2008 and circular dtd. 04.03.2009. 2.
Heard learned Advocate for the petitioner and learned Additional GP for all the respondents.

Learned Additional GP submits that the matter would lie before the learned Administrative Tribunal. Taking into consideration the fact that the petitioner is challenging advertisement for the post of Police Patil, the learned Advocate for the petitioner submits that he is in fact not only challenging the advertisement dated 15.09.2025 and 04.09.2025 to the extent of village Rani Unachegaon, Tq. Ghanasangavi, Dist. Jalna but also the fact that they ought not to have been decided the objections which have been raised by the petitioner before the respondents, on 08.09.2025 and representation dated 18.09.2025 and 19.09.2025, it is stated to be not as per the provisions in Government Resolution (for short "GR") dated 16.10.2008 and circular dated 04.03.2009.

Learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner has taken us through the GR dated 16.10.2008 which was in respect of reservation for the post of Police Patil. It has been stated in the GR that the said circular has been taken of in view of the decision dated 25.06.2007 by this Court in Writ Petition No. 4175/2007 and 4202/2007, the policy was settled for the reservation for the post of Police Patil. One of the criteria is for the reservation is the population. The circular appears to have been later on issued on 04.03.2009 to the Collector of Satara, Akola and Bhandara wherein taking into consideration the same criteria regarding the number
of people residing in the village, the reservation should be decided, was reiterated. Even in the present petition, petitioner states that taking into consideration the number of people residing in the village Rani Unachegaon, the post of Police Patil ought to have for the open category. However, the petitioner in this case has not produced any document to show as to what is the population of village Rani Unachegaon, Tq. Ghanasangavi, Dist. Jalna. The basis on which the representation was tried to be canvassed that itself has not been demonstrated in the representation dated 18.09.2025 and 19.09.2025 as well as letter dated 08.09.2025, the petitioner has not quoted as to what is the population of village Rani Unchegaon. Under such circumstance, we do not find any merit in the present petition. It deserves to be dismissed at the threshold.
