CORAM : RAVINDRA V. GHUGE, J.

Dated: September 27, 2017 ...

PER COURT :- 1.

These matters were heard for sometime.

2.

Learned counsel for the petitioners, in all these matters, submits, on instructions, that as their nomination papers have been accepted from the open category, the petitioners desire to

withdraw these petitions, with liberty to withdraw their nomination forms. This request is made at 5.45 pm, during the course of the hearing of a large number of petitions, with regard to the decisions on the nomination forms and the time for withdrawal of the candidature is technically over at 3.00 pm today.

3.

Considering the fact that a large number of cases have been filed yesterday and today, with regard to the decisions on the nomination papers, the hearing in each matter has consumed considerable time. It is in these fortuitous circumstances that the time for withdrawal has ended at 3.00 pm today and the petitioners, who are all women and do not desire to contest the elections from the General category, request to permit them to withdraw their nominations. It is in these circumstances, the said request is being accepted.

4.

All these petitions are disposed off as withdrawn and the liberty to withdraw the nomination papers / candidature is permitted. The concerned Returning Officer, who is present in the Court shall take note that these petitioners have withdrawn their candidatures and same may be permitted. Consequentially, their names shall not be published in the list of contesting /

validly nominated candidates.

5.

Though, learned Advocate for the intervenor have strenuously argued, the civil application for intervention has been disposed off in the light of the withdrawal of the Writ Petitions.
