Mr.Vakil, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner had submitted proposal seeking verification of caste claim as 'Mahar' (Scheduled Caste). The same is not accepted by the Committee on the ground that the same should be routed through the institution

2 W.P.No.11997/17 and would not accept the proposal submitted by individual.

We have heard learned A.G.P.

Time and again we are passing orders to the effect that even if an individual submits proposal to the Committee, seeking verification of his caste claim, the Committee is duty bound to accept the said proposal and to verify the caste claim.

In case the petitioner submits the proposal in the prescribed form for verification of his caste claim, the Committee shall accept the said proposal and decide it on its own merits.

The Writ Petition is accordingly disposed of. No costs.
