Heard. This petition has been filed for directions to the trial Court for expediting Sessions Case No.42/2020. It is a case involving three persons. The petitioner is behind the bars since little over two years. The other two co-accused were on bail. Bail of one of them has been cancelled, but he could not be taken into custody since he is absconding. It is informed that the trial has commenced way back in the year 2022. Four witnesses have been examined. The fourth witness has been examined way back in November 2022. The application given by the present petitioner under Section 317 of the Cr.P.C. is yet to be decided.

In view of the above, we direct the trial Court to expedite the hearing of the case and if it is not possible, then first pass order on the application moved under Section 317 of the Cr.P.C. and then conclude the same as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of one year from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

With the above directions, the petition stands disposed of.
