The petitioner claims that he is belonging to scheduled tribe and the proposal for verification of tribe certificate tendered in the year 2005 appears to have been misplaced and as such, the matter has not been decided.

In the circumstances, the petitioner is granted liberty to tender a fresh proposal together with the relevant documents directly to

2 7-wp11766.odt respondent no.2 - Scrutiny Committee within six weeks from today. If the petitioner tenders fresh proposal within six weeks, respondent no.2 - Scrutiny Committee shall decide the same in observance of the procedure prescribed under the law as expeditiously as possible and preferably, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of the proposal.

Respondent no.2 - Scrutiny Committee shall also enquire as regards loss of the original proposal of the petitioner and take appropriate steps against the person responsible for such loss.

With the above directions, the Writ Petition stands disposed of.
