Heard the respective learned counsels.

The petitioners are the member of the Co-operative Society. The Government had published the election program. However, the Government had extended the elections twice. Now, it is extended till 31.12.2024. The petitioners have an apprehension that there may be again an extension to the election of the Co-operative Societies.

Learned Government Pleader would submit that the

902-WP.12083-24.odt decision may be taken after 31.12.2024. To protect the public interest, we direct the Government not to extend the elections of the societies unless there was an extreme emergency and sound reasons. If the time is not extended, respondent Nos.2 to 4 should act upon according to the law.
