The petitioner intends to start a new Arts, Commerce and Science College and is seeking approval/permission. A favourable proposal as contemplated under Section 109 of the Maharashtra Public Universities Act, 2016 seems to have been forwarded by the University to 1/2

Without expressing anything on merit particularly in the light of the fact that the academic year 2023-24 has started long back, keeping open all the issues, we direct the respondent No.1 to take appropriate decision on the proposal received in respect of the petitioner from the concerned University on its merits, as expeditiously as possible and in any case within six weeks.

The writ petition is disposed of.
