The present petition has been filed seeking a direction to respondent No. 4 to decide the representation presented by the petitioner under the Maharashtra Prohibition Act, expeditiously 3.

The learned AGP has received written instructions dated 13.10.2025 from the Desk Officer, which are taken on record and marked as Exhibit 'X'. It is submitted that, in view of the change in jurisdiction, the revision would now be heard by the Principal Secretary, Excise Department. Earlier, it was heard by the Additional Principal Secretary, Excise Department, who retired on 31.08.2025, and his charge is with the Principal Secretary. It is stated that the revision would be decided within one month. The said statement in Exhibit 'X' is taken as undertaking.

We dispose of the writ petition by directing the Principal Secretary, Excise Department, to decide the petitioner's revision within a period of one month from today.
