The petitioners are seeking directions to the Special Land Acquisition Officer to decide their applications preferred under Section 28-A of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 at the earliest.

It appears that by communication dated 01.08.2021, the Special Land Acquisition Officer had called upon the petitioners to furnish certain documents.

We dispose of the writ petition by directing respondent No.2 - Special Land Acquisition Officer to decide the petitioners' applications as early as possible and in any case within a period of twelve (12) weeks from today.

The petitioners shall comply with the directions to produce the documents as mentioned in the communication dated 01.08.2021.
