It is not in dispute that the petitioners' Gat Nos.302 and 304 are acquired by the respondents. However, in the final award instead of Gat No.304, Gat No.301 is recorded in the name of petitioner no.4. Admittedly, petitioner nos.1 and 5 are owners of Gat No.302. In one of the statements annexed with the final award, they are shown owners of Gat No.302. Whereas in another statement of the same date, they are shown owners of Gat no.301.

Learned APP has placed on record copy of communication dated 08.10.2025 addressed by Sub-Divisional Officer, Ambad informing him that since six months period is passed from the declaration of final award on 05.08.2024, he has no authority to carry out correction in the award. The amount of compensation was received and is paid to the rest of the petitioners, however, since the Gat Numbers of petitioner nos.1, 4 and 5 were incorrectly mentioned in two statements, compensation amount could not be disbursed to the petitioners.

Taking into consideration the above peculiar facts, we hereby direct respondents to correct the Gat Numbers of the petitioners in the final award within a period of four weeks from today and disburse the compensation amount to the petitioners to which they are entitled to.

With these directions, the contempt petition is disposed of. 5.

It is made clear that if the above directions are not implemented within the stipulated time, the same will be treated as aggravated form of contempt.
