This contempt petition can be disposed of in view of averments made in paragraph nos. 9 and 10 of the affidavit in reply filed on behalf of respondent no.2 to the petition.

It is contended by the respondents that the meetings of the District Vigilance Committee have been regularly conducted by the Office of the Department and Government ex-officio members have attended the meetings. It is pointed out that during operation of the President's rule in the State of Maharashtra, and as a result of applicability of Code of Conduct for certain period, the meetings were not held. It is also further stated that the term of non Governmental members have come to an end, including that of the petitioner, and as such, non Governmental members were not invited for the monthly meetings of the District Vigilance Committee. The petitioner disputes that his term has expired. However, we are not inclined to go into the factual disputes raised by the petitioner in this petition. 3.

In view of the explanation tendered in the affidavit-in-reply, nothing survives in the contempt petition. The contempt petition stands disposed of.
