This is a second round for the Petitioners, before this Court. In the earlier round, the Petitioners had preferred Writ Petition No.7423/2023. By an order dated 10/07/2023, we had directed that the proposal should be forwarded under the Maharashtra Highways Act, 1955, within 45 days. We were conscious of the fact that 7 months had already lapsed. We had, therefore, directed that the entire exercise of concluding acquisition proceeding be completed within the prescribed timeline.

The learned Advocate for the Petitioners submits that, since no timeline is prescribed under the Maharashtra Highways Act, the Respondents are now ignoring the matter. 3.

The learned A.G.P. submits that, Respondent No.2 would complete the said proceeding within the timeline, as may be directed by this Court.

In view of the above, this Writ Petition is disposed off, with a direction to Respondent No.2/District Collector, Dhule, to conclude the proceeding within 180 days from today. Thereafter, payment of compensation, if any, shall be done within 60 days.
