The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, wife of the petitioner was working as Nurse (ANM) at Civil Hospital, Ahmednagar. She was appointed as Arogya Sevika on 31.03.2021 at Covid Care Centre, Mahatma Phule, Agriculture University, Rahuri, Ahmednagar. Subsequently, deceased wife of the petitioner tested positive of Covid-19 on 30.04.2021 and passed away on 05.05.2021.

The learned counsel further submits that, petitioner is entitled to claim an amount of Rs.50,00,000/- under the Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Yojna. The petitioner had approached the Hon'ble Minister and Collector, but no cognizance is taken as yet. The learned counsel submits that, Collector is competent to certify about the entitlement.

Mr. Talhar, learned ASG accepts notice for respondent nos.1 and 2. The learned A.G.P. accepts notice for respondent no.3.

In case, the Collector is competent to certify about the entitlement, the petitioner may file an application with the Collector to that effect. The Collector, if he is competent to take decision on it, shall take decision on the same preferably within a period of four (04) months from the date of filing of the application. Depending upon the decision taken, further course be undertaken by the parties.

Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
