The grievance made in the petition is in respect of the vacancy occurring in the cadre of Deputy Commissioner of Aurangabad Municipal Corporation.

(Order) (2) PIL No. 00103 of 2017 02.

It would be responsibility of the State to consider the deficiency and to take appropriate steps for filling in the vacancy, in accordance with the policy framed by the State and by adopting the mode as permissible in terms of rules framed for that purpose. The State Government is expected to take into consideration, the grievance that as a result of vacancy in the public utilities bodies / local authorities, citizens are not made to suffer. The State Government may take appropriate steps in that regard.

Since the instant petition relates to services, the grievance raised by individual unconnected with service cadre need not be considered. No interference is called for.

The public interest litigation stands disposed of.
