The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the authority to grant licence under the Maharashtra Entertainment Duty Regulation is now the local body as per the amendment dated 29.05.2017. According to the petitioner, the petitioner had filed an application for grant of licence with the office of the Collector. The same is not decided for 5 years. The office of the Collector may now be directed to transfer the said application

( 2 ) wp 12762.17 to the local body, Shrigonda Municipal Council/Respondent No. 4. 2.

Considering the request made, the Respondent No. 2 shall forward the application of the petitioner for grant of licence with all the relevant documents to Respondent No. 4 within a period of four weeks. On receipt of the said application and the documents, the Respondent No. 4 shall take decision upon it expeditiously and preferably within 3 months. 3.

Till the application of the petitioner is decided for licence no further coercive steps be taken against the petitioner. The writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
