The grievance of petitioners is that, though in July 2012 award U/Sec. 28-A of the Land Acquisition Act 1894 is passed, neither the State nor the acquiring body have made payment of the same.

We have heard the learned A. G. P. and the learned counsel for the acquiring body.

The claimants are all agriculturists. Their agricultural

2 wp 3613.16 lands have been acquired. Their source of livelihood has been lost.

For more than five years the amount of compensation is not paid. Considering the above, we direct the respondents to pay the amount to petitioners as awarded U/Sec. 28-A of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 expeditiously and preferably within a period of six (06) months from today. The writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
