The petitioner is claiming compensation in respect of the land acquisition proceeding undertaken by the respondent No.2 the competent authority under the National Highways Act.

It appears that he has submitted the representation to the respondent No.1 - the Collector who in our considered view will not have the power to consider the request.

We dispose of the writ petition by permitting the petitioner to make appropriate application to the respondent No.2 and depending upon whether there is dispute or otherwise the respondent No.2 may take appropriate decision in accordance with Section 3H (3) or 3H (4) expeditiously.
