This is a petition seeking a writ of habeas corpus. 2.

The petitioner alleges that her daughter Pankaja, aged 19 years, has been abducted. An offence has been registered. 3.

Ms. Manisha V. Hivarale, A.P.I. M.I.D.C. CIDCO Police Station, Aurangabad, produces the girl Pankaja before us. By taking her in confidence we have interacted with her in the chambers at around 5.15 p.m. Her statement has been recorded by the investigating officer which we confronted to her. She admits the contents of the statement and even her signature thereunder. It is recorded on 26.04.2024, apparently in presence of the petitioner as well as a member of the Women Safety Cell. 4.

The girl confided before us about having been brought from Pune. 1/2

We have expressly told her that being major, we will not compel her to go back to parents or any where else and she would be at liberty. Still she has said that she would go back to her parents and would continue her studies. 5.

We dispose of the writ petition. The order is dictated in presence of both the sides.
