The petitioner prays for correction in the name of his father, on account of one single alphabet "i" having gone missing from his name in the statement of marks and certificates of SCC and HSC. His father'

s actual name is 'GIRIJARAM', that has been wrongly typed is "GIRJARAM'.

Considering the law laid down by the Full Bench of this Court in Janabai d/o Himmatrao Thakur Vs. State of Maharashtra &Ors. [Paragraph No.39 (a - d)], 2019 (6) Mh.L.J. 769, it is apparently an '

obvious mistake'

.

The petitioner has received a joining letter for "Agniveer (General Duty), in the Indian Army. The regiment alloted to him is Armoured Corps centre. He, therefore, desperately needs the corrected documents.

Since Mr. U. S. Mote, the learned Advocate represents the MSBS & HSE Board, respondent no.6. We requested him to assist the Court. We appreciate that the learned Advocate has rendered assistance. 5.

The learned AGP frankly submits that the wrongly spelled father'

s name of the petitioner is an obvious mistake. However, the petitioner has to file an application under Rule 26.4 of the Secondary School Code, in physical form, before the Education Officer. 6.

The learned Advocate for the petitioner submits that he would tender such application by 11.00 am (tomorrow). The learned AGP graciously submits that the Education Officer would promptly pass an order before 1.00 pm. The learned Advocate representing the Board, respondent no.6 submits that as soon as the petitioner approaches the board with the order of the Education Officer, the corrected certificates/marks sheets would be issued on the same day on which the order of the Education Officer is tendered.

The learned AGP and learned Advocate Mr. Mote submit that they would impress upon their clients to work with electric speed in this matter, since the petitioner would be joining the Indian Army. 8.

In view of the above, this petition is disposed off. 9.
