Heard learned advocate for the petitioner as also the learned Assistant Public Prosecutor. Petition was filed seeking transfer of investigation into the crime for variety of reasons as mentioned in the criminal writ petition.

Notice was directed to be issued on 23 October 2023. 3.

The learned A. P. P. submits that investigating officer thereafter is changed in December 2023. Present investigating officer is a Police Sub Inspector, who has taken some steps in as much as the accused who is the husband of the deceased daughter of the petitioner is residing in Canada and she allegedly committed suicide in Toronto (Canada).

Considering the complexity of the issue, we dispose of the criminal writ petition by directing the investigating officer to expedite the investigation and it shall be supervised/monitored by the officer of the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) of the jurisdiction.

Incidentally, though we are not hearing the learned advocate for the accused who has independently filed criminal application seeking quashment of the crime, the learned advocate submits that he has received certain documents from the investigation department of Canada and can assist the Investigating Officer in the present matter. He is free to do that. 6.

The criminal writ petition is disposed of.
