Present petition has been filed to direct respondent No.1 to decide the proposal for premature release of the petitioner which is stated to be pending since last two years. 2.

Learned A.P.P. waives service of notice for all the respondents and places on record written communication by the Under Secretary, Home department dated 27th November 2024 which is marked Exhibit A, thereby it is stated that respondent No.1 would require three more months time to decide the said proposal. In fact, we are not happy with the way respondent No.1 is handling such proposals. The proposals for premature release contemplates a lengthy

(2) 917-Cri. W. P. No. 1933-23.odt procedure and therefore, it should be started as per the set principles and rules. If that procedure is not followed, then the convict is required to linger in jail unnecessarily. We are of the opinion that, the said period of three months is on the higher side.
