Learned advocate for the petitioners submit that the petitioners are illiterate and could make an application on 30.06.2022 complaining about illegal excavation of mines and minerals and also threat extended to them regarding removal of encroachment. The petitioners would make appropriate application for regularisation of their possession over the Gairan / Government land.

We permit the petitioners to make such an application and dispose of the writ petition by directing the respondents to take appropriate decision on such application in the light of the directions in the case of Jagpal Singh and Ors. v. State of Punjab and Ors.; (2011) 11 SCC 396, orders in Suo Moto PIL No.2 of 2022 of the Principal Seat and the Government Resolutions. Parties to act on the authenticated copy of this order. [Y.G.
