The petitioner which runs a Child Care Home was possessing the requisite permission/licence under the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2000 and has been seeking its renewal under the successor Act, Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015. 3.

The learned advocate for the petitioner submits that already an Application From No. 27 (Exhibit 'C') has been filed way back in the year 2018 and the respondents-authorities have not entertained that application till date. They seek a direction similar to one issued by this Court in the matter of Mother Teresa Balakashram Vs. The State of Maharashtra and others in Writ Petition No. 7821/2021 and connected matters decided on 08.09.2022 4.

The writ petition is disposed of with following directions : 1/2

913 WP 13939 OF 2023.odt (a) The respondents-authorities shall take appropriate steps and consider and decide the petitioner's application on its own merit and in the light of the observations and directions issued in the matter of Mother Teresa Balakashram Vs. The State of Maharashtra and others in Writ Petition No. 7821/2021 and connected matters decided on 08.09.2022.

(b) The decision shall be taken as expeditiously as possible and in any case within three months from today.
