Present Application has been filed on behalf of Shree Sai Baba Sansthan for granting permission for giving financial help of Rs.11,00,000/- (Rupees Eleven Lakhs) for the treatment of veteran actor Mr. Sudhir Dalvi.

Heard. It is submitted by learned Advocate Mr. Bajaj on behalf of the applicant that in view of the order passed in Public Interest Litigation No.98 of 2021, Sansthan has to seek
permission for the expenses. He submits that the ad-hoc committee constituted by this Court has taken the decision to give financial assistance to Mr. Sudhir Dalvi, who is presently in need of funds for his medical treatment as he is suffering from Sepsis. Veteran actor, who is presently 86 years old, had portrayed the role of Shree Saibaba in the movie by name "Shree Saibaba" and he is remembered for the said role throughout India. He was hospitalized in Lilawati Hospital, Mumbai. The Sansthan has received the letter on 30th October 2025, requesting to provide financial assistance to the extent of Rs.15,00,000/-.

On the last occasion we had asked the applicant to file fresh affidavit along with the documents stating that, whether veteran actor cannot afford to bear the hospital bills and about his own financial condition and some such documents which would show that the treatment was given to him. Now the documents have been placed to show that the wife of the veteran actor has explained about the illness Mr. Sudhir Dalvi is suffering from. It it stated that he is bed-ridden and he is taken care at the house now with the help of two caretakers and the physio-therapist. The improvement would be seen only after
about 1 to 1 1⁄2 years. We are convinced with the fact that the veteran actor is in need of financial help. Further even Section 17(2)(2)(o) of the Shree Sai Baba Sansthan Trust (Shirdi) Act, 2004, prescribes for promoting noble cause aimed at achieving human well being or to help human beings in calamities. Therefore, the Trust can incur the expenses. Taking into consideration the faith of people and the role played by the veteran actor, such help can be then said to be on the basis of the acts done or for which Shree Sai Baba spend his life. 4.
Hence, we permit the applicant Sansthan to give an amount of Rs.11,00,000/- for the treatment of veteran actor Mr. Sudhir Dalvi. The said amount be transferred in Account No.412200100000126, IFSC Code: SRCB0000412, Saraswat Cooperative Bank Limited, Branch- Thakur Complex, Kandivali, Mumbai, after due verification.
