This is an appeal fled by the owner-cum-driver of the motor vehicle, who has been fastened with a liability to pay compensation to the tune of Rs.14,96,760/- together with interest in a claim petition fled by the respondent.

The learned advocate for the appellant fairly concedes that applicant/appellant is ready to deposit 50% of the amount of compensation with interest and the execution may be stayed.

Considering the fact that it was an accident involving two vehicles and this being a frst appeal, the execution of the impugned award shall stand stayed subject to the condition that the appellant/applicant deposits an amount of Rs.8,00,000/- (Rs. Eight lakhs) in this Court within 8 weeks. 5.
