The learned Counsel for respondent no.2 - the Election Commissioner, on instructions, makes a statement that the newly elected body will take

2 6-wp12309.odt charge of the affairs of the Village Panchayat only after completion of the term of the existing elected body. In support of this contention, he tenders on record a communication dated 12.11.1997. The communication is taken on record and marked as "X" for identification.

In view of the statement made on behalf of respondent no.2, the grievance raised by the petitioner in that behalf, has been substantially redressed.

So far as the other grievances raised in the petition are concerned, it would be open for the petitioner to avail of the remedies available under the law at appropriate stage.

In view of above, the Writ Petition stands disposed of.
