Admittedly, an alternate remedy of appeal before the State Government is available to the petitioner questioning the impugned order of the Commissioner passed on 13th December, 2022. 2.

In view of above, petition stands disposed of. 3.

However, if the petitioner deposits an amount of Rs.51 Lakhs with the respondent no.4/Superintendent State Excise by tomorrow i.e. 31st March, 2023, his renewal of licence may not be withhold on the ground of payment of the arrears of license fees.

Needless to clarify, the amount as shall be deposited as referred to above be adjusted against the liability that shall be incurred via the renewal of the licence of the petitioner.
