The petitioners claiming themselves to be the project affected persons are seeking benefit in the form of an allotment of a plot under the Maharashtra Project Affected Persons Resettlement and Rehabilitation Act, 1989.

The learned advocate for the petitioners submits that the entitlement of the petitioners to such allotment may be considered by the respondent Collector to whom representations have been made. 4.

It appears that the petitioners have submitted application with the respondent Collector seeking allotment of specific plot. The Collector may consider the request and pass appropriate order on the merits of the matter. If the petitioners are found entitled to allotment of plots, even if the plots being claimed by them are not allotted to them their case may be considered for allotment of vacant plots available, if any. The Decision shall be taken as expeditiously as possible and in any event within six weeks after giving an opportunity to the petitioners of being heard. 5.
