Both the petitions have been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to decide the proposals submitted by the respective petitioners for grant of an FL-III licence under the provisions of the Maharashtra Prohibition Act and the Maharashtra Foreign Liquor Rules, 1953.

Heard the learned advocate Mr. Undre for the petitioner.

The respective petitioners appear to have filed the proposals for grant of a licence on 03.07.2025 and 09.10.2025, respectively. Learned advocate for the petitioners relies on the circular dated 01.02.2005, wherein it is stated that proposals for such licences are required to be decided within a period of one month and fifteen days. 4.

Learned AGP, upon instructions from respondents Nos. 1 and 2, submits that the proposals will be decided within a period of four months from today.

The circular is, in fact, binding on respondents Nos. 1 and 2, and therefore, we dispose of both petitions with a direction to respondents Nos. 1 and 2 to decide the proposals of the respective petitioners within a period of three months from today.
