Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that almost all the prayers in this writ petition are complied with. However, he pointed out that the construction of Dilasa Cell building was made through private contractor contrary to the rules and directions issued by the State Government from time to time regarding Maharashtra Police Welfare Fund Rules and the Circular dated 14.07.2023.

The learned Government Pleader attracted our attention to the portion in the affidavit-in-reply dated 18.11.2025 wherein it has been undertaken that the Director General of Police, Maharashtra State, Mumbai is going to take necessary steps on the basis of enquiry report and initiate appropriate

(2) 956 Cri.WP-14.2023.odt action in accordance with law. However, we deem it appropriate that the said exercise is to be made within a specific period.

As such, the petition stands disposed of with direction to the Director General of Police, Maharashtra State, Mumbai to take steps on the basis of enquiry report dated 18 July 2024 and to initiate appropriate action as permissible under law within the period of three months from the date of this order.
