1] Heard learned counsel for the petitioner.

2] The petitioner has filed this petition for correction of the birth date from 15.7.1991 to 15.11.1991. All the documents which are annexed to the petition disclose that the date of birth of the petitioner is shown as 15.7.1991.

3] Today, during the course of the arguments, the petitioner has tendered a xerox copy of his admission to Anganwadi school, which shows that his date of birth is 15.11.1991.

WP 12798/16 - 2 - 4] Apart from these documents, there is no other document, which supports the case of the petitioner. The petitioner has applied for Forest Guard. He noticed that the eligibility criteria for the said post was that the candidate should be between 18 to 25 years of age. The petitioner did not fall within this criteria and thereafter when his application was processed, he realized that he does not fall within the said criteria and, therefore, now the petition is filed seeking correction of birth date.

5] We are not inclined to issue any direction directing the respondents for correction of date of birth of the petitioner. However, the petitioner is at liberty to approach appropriate forum before whom such correction can be made. Reserving such a right, the petition is disposed of. No costs.
